SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Director of Production is responsible for the resource planning and delivery of Production Management services for FMAV Events, retention of existing client relationships and organic growth from this client base.

Results are achieved through a blend of team management, client management, and technical event services delivery.

The DoP role is measured on personal sales achieved against target, in addition to a business managed target for individual and team results.

The Director of Production is a leader who oversees and coordinates activities of the team taking a lead role in the assignment of projects and client interactions once an account has been established by the Account Manager and throughout the sales process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Management and Resource Planning:

· Provide leadership and guidance for assigned team:

o Drive accountability for results with team members

o Work with GM to source top talent

o Provide learning and professional development to team members through ongoing coaching

o Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews with a focus on driving top performance

o Adjust processes/programs that drive desired sales and operational outcomes and identify improvements (e.g. technical reviews)

· Assign AM sales support and confirmed projects to PM Team using best ‘fit’ considering:

o Client type

o Technical and/or logistical complexity

o Event timing and calendar planning

Client Management:

· Retain and renew business by serving as the lead point of contact for assigned customers

· Build & foster positive, long-lasting customer relationships

· Enhance customer ties by defining opportunities and introducing additional products and services – grow the account organically

· Visit client office, discovery, close additional business

· Resolve customer issues and ensure their high levels of satisfaction through prompt responsiveness, exceeding expectations of client service level agreement

· Hold responsibility for a small book of business.

Production Management:

· Propose design elements and layout plans to develop outstanding proposals to win business

· Drive exceptional quality of audio visual elements (staging, lighting, audio, video and emergent technologies) to create positive impact and customer loyalty

· Through review and management of Job Costing Process, manage budget and cost control for event, including equipment planning, labour requirements and execution.

· Coordinates all logistical and technical activities (hotel, rigging, power, MediaLab, DesignHub etc.)

· Create production schedules, floor plans, source equipment (when required) and manage vendors

Technical Event Delivery:

· Liaise with client and venue staff for event details as required

· Act as crew lead on event site leading the installation, troubleshooting, and dismantle of equipment on show site

· Provide expertise and guidance to our client

· Accommodate last minute changes to suit meeting needs

· Technical Operation

General & Administrative:

· Allocate necessary resources to the team (e.g. software, hardware, technologies)

· Remain current and educated on all new products and initiatives

· Fulfill all CRM related requirements ensuring entirely all information is up to date

· Establishing and maintaining close relationships with colleagues nationally as well as with external partners

· Ensure projects are properly administrated (e.g. P.O.s for subcontracted services, travel expenses, reconciliations)

REQUIREMENTS:

· Technical leadership experience

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail

· Results driven, energetic and focused

· Valid driver’s license and insurance

· Excellent leadership skills and professionalism

· Excellent analytical, multi-tasking skills

· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

· Resourceful with strong cost management skills and purchasing acumen

· Able to work independently and exercise appropriate autonomy in decision making

· Commitment to exceptional customer service / exceeding client expectations
