Business Resource Groups

We serve as a resource for both members and the organization by fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. From workshops and seminars to networking opportunities and fostering growth and development, our goal is to better our members, organization and community.

The National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH) is a non-profit organization formed in 1989 at Cornell University and is now the premier professional organization for hospitality students. The main purpose of NSMH is to address diversity and multiculturalism, as well as the career development of student members within the hospitality industry.

    My experience with the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality’s chapter at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore enabled me to learn and gain insight about my future employer, PSAV. At their annual conference, I attained valuable information through the workshops, educational sessions, and career fairs to hone in on my skills and grow professionally. Such representation at the conference was critical because it opened my eyes to employment opportunities beyond those one would normally think involve “hospitality.” I’m excited to say that I have been with the company a little over a year as a Sales Manager, and through my position, I have gained additional experience by organizing and assisting teammates with conferences, meetings, and galas. The overall experience is phenomenal and is an opportunity of a lifetime.
